ELiGE has been in the CSGO Majors 10 times. He reached the finals once with Team Liquid in 2016.
2015
He first participated in a CSGO Majors tournament in 2015 in the Dreamhack Open Cluj-Napoka. For this tournament, Team Liquid’s roster included Hiko, nitr0, FugLy, and adreN. Team Liquid bowed out in the Groups Stage when they lost their first 2 single-map games against NiP and Virtus Pro.
2016 MLG Columbus
ELiGE saw action again in 2016 in MLG Columbus. Team Liquid notably acquired Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev early in the year. This is his first Major with ELiGE and Team Liquid.
The roster included ELiGE, Hiko, nitr0, s1mple, and adreN. Their experience and new AWPer led to an undefeated (2-0) finish in the Groups Stage against fnatic and Faze.
They cruised through the Quarterfinals vs CLG but lost 0-2 to the eventual champions Luminosity in the Semi-finals. This was where coldzera pulled off his legendary, graffiti-worthy 4-kill with an AWP in Mirage, including a double-kill no-scope on ELiGE and s1mple.
2016 ESL One Cologne
ELiGE and Team Liquid had a second shot at a Major in 2016 with s1mple in their roster at the ESL One Cologne 2016. Team Liquid had Hiko, nitr0, s1mple, and jdm64 on the roster. They managed to clinch a spot in the playoffs with a 2-1 record in Groups. In the quarterfinals, they met Natus Vincere. Team Liquid dropped the first map (Train) but won Nuke and Cobblestone convincingly.
In the Semis, Team Liquid faced a fnatic team led by olofmeister and the legendary AWPer JW. Team Liquid won the first two maps to move on to the finals. ELiGE had a notable 1.44 HLTV 2.0 rating, just behind s1mple.
Team Liquid and EliGe had to concede a 2nd place finish after a 0-2 loss to the coldzera-led SK Gaming.
2017-2022
EliGe and Team Liquid managed to qualify in 8 out of the next 9 majors after s1mple’s exit in 2016. Out of the 8 majors, they managed to reach the playoffs three times. Their best finish in this period was a semifinal exit against the Astralis superteam in the FACEIT Major 2018.
EliGe and Team Liquid qualified for the ESL Rio Major 2022 set to start on October 31, 2022.
