Early NRG Performances

Since his debut on the professional scene in 2015, Brehze has played for 7 different teams before signing with NRG in December 2016. The new NRG roster made an immediate impact in the following year, with the team reaching the money stage of tournaments ten times in 2017. The gang built on its success with 18 more in-the-money finishes in 2018. This was topped by a tier-A tournament win in the StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8, where the NRG took home the $125,000 prize. While the young roster was showing glimpses of the greatness they could achieve on the big stage, they have failed to qualify in any of the 2018 Majors and have come up short in S-tier tournaments.

IEM Katowice 2019

Brehze would qualify for the Majors for the first time in IEM Katowice 2019. NRG started strong with three straight wins in the Challenger stage to advance to Legends. They bowed out in the second stage of the Majors facing superior teams in NiP, AVANGAR, and Complexity. They exited at the bottom of the money round, winning $8,750. Brehze averaged a solid 1.19 HLTV 2.0 rating in the 4 maps played in the Legends stage.

StarLadder Major Berlin 2019

Brehze and NRG would qualify again as Challengers at the StarLadder Major Berlin 2019. They would advance to the Legends stage with a 3-1 record. This was followed by three straight wins in the Legends stage to clinch a slot in the quarterfinals. This included a win against the legendary Astralis super team. They won 2-0 against the s1mple and zeus-led NaVi team in the quarterfinals to advance to the semis, where they had a chance to dethrone the reigning champ, Astralis. With their play heavily scrutinized, Brehze and NRG fell to Astralis 0-2 to exit the Majors in the 3rd-4th place, winning $70,000. This would be the last Major Brehze played with NRG.

EG Acquisition

In September 2019, Evil Geniuses (EG) announced its entry into the professional CS:GO scene by acquiring the NRG CSGO roster. Brehze and the new EG team found success early on, winning first place in the ESL One: New York 2019 and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8. Brehze won his first S-tier event MVP in ESL One: New York with a 1.29 HLTV 2.0 rating. He led his team with a 93-62 performance in the finals to beat Astralis again.

EG Rebuild

As the CSGO scene became more competitive, EG failed to get a first-place finish in big tournaments in 2019. This prompted some roster changes from EG, letting go of coach ImAPet in 2020 and benching tarik in 2021. Brehze’s NRG teammate, Ethan, retired from competitive CSGO in the same year, shifting his focus to Valorant.

In the rebuild, Brehze and EG were able to qualify for the PGL Major Stockholm 2021. Still, they only managed a 15th-16th finish, just enough to reach the money rounds in the Legends stage to take home $17,500. At the end of 2021, stanislaw would also leave EG, leaving only Brehze and solid AWPer, CeRq from the NRG acquisition.

Playing with Stewie2K as IGL

The rebuild continued in 2022 with EG signing Boston 2018 Major winners Stewie2K, RUSH, and autimatic. This drama-filled era of EG culminated with their failure to qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

Qualifying for the IEM Rio Major 2022

Brehze would stick around in EG for the continued 2022 rebuild. Stewie2K ultimately decided to take a break from competitive CS:GO to focus on streaming, and RUSH would be moved to lead EG’s second team, EG Black. This leaves Brehze, CeRq, and autimatic in the active roster. In August 2022, EG signed neaLaN and promoted EG Black’s entry fragger, HexT, to the primary EG team to complete the roster for the IEM Rio 2022 RMR. With this roster, Brehze managed to qualify in the Challengers stage of his 4th CSGO Major.
